Conference Expo exhibit at the PPA Connect Conference
The Professional Publishers Association (PPA) is the voice of the independent publishing community and PPA Connect is the association’s channel for events professionals. It’s the place to go for anyone responsible for the creation, selling, producing or marketing of events.
We were excited to participate at this year’s PPA Connect, which took place at Olympia Conference Centre on 12 June 2015. The event was very well attended by event professionals from a multitude of industries hoping to learn and share insight, network with their peers and listen to industry experts.
Our show objectives
Whenever we exhibit we have clear exhibiting objectives. After all, exhibiting costs money and it’s important to demonstrate within our own live marketing business, a strong case for ROI (return on investment). Our key objectives at this show included; nurture existing relationships, generate quality leads and introduce Conference Expo to a new audience.
We were keen to show visitors how Conference Expo can help organisers and exhibiting sponsors, deliver a well-designed presentation at a show whilst adding convenience and value. So often, one turns up at a conference and there are exhibiting sponsors showcasing their brand across an array of different formats, which can detract from the overall look and feel of an event and detract from the main objective of any participant, to meet peers and nurture and build relationships.
Our stand fostered considerable interest (and some great leads) as people seemed to really grasp the concept of having a superior display solution which delivers more impact than a standard pop-up display or banner presence.
Topics of interest
There was an impressive speaker line-up with many leading experts from across the industry discussing every topic under the sun, from sponsorship to social media. One topic that really grabbed our attention was a presentation on Powering Better Engagement. The content was broken down into three easy digestible areas; What Are Your Customers Really Looking For? Nailing The Return On Investment Model and Managing Expectations.
Mark Steel from Imago Tech Media, gave a very interesting presentation on Return on Investment. Although the concept was nothing new, it did underpin some important points including how companies should forensically analyse cost per lead, per stand size to work out which stands deliver the most value back to their business.
Learn anything new?
One valuable takeaway was the power of storytelling. Provide relevant and memorable feedback post an event or exhibition presented in an engaging format; colourful infographics, surveys and SlideShare presentations.
